The positives include a great location nestled among pine trees on the slope down towards the beach; a pristine pool, and varied breakfast offering. Upon arrival, we were offered a complementary upgrade to one of the 27 square metre rooms with full sea views in the old part of the hotel, which I thought was quite surprising given than it is still high season and presumably close to full occupancy. Upon opening the door to the room, which is on a corner of the building, we were immediately hit with a blast of hot air. It was about 35 degrees outside. The air conditioning was utterly feeble and produced the slightest trickle of cool air, which was completely ineffectual for the purposes of cooling the temperature of room so spacious. To make matters worse, the aircon was on a default setting of 23 degrees, and the temperature could not be lowered using the thermostat. We brought this to the attention of the management four times during our stay, and their indifference was staggering, with vague promises to get a technician to investigate and to procure a fan from the chef (!?) but nothing was followed up. We ended up buying our own fan, but all this did was to move already hot air around the room. I was also admonished for having the temerity to take a bottle of chilled water from the breakfast room in an attempt to cool down! This completely ruined our stay
